Officially announced, the second annual Columbus Maker Faire will be held at COSI (Center of Science & industry) on Sunday, October 13th this year. The event will be FREE, which is typically the price we find people enjoy paying for stuff. This weekend also happens to be Columbus day weekend and is part of a larger city wide celebration of innovation & design called IDus (www.idus.us) which include a lot of other cool stuff on Friday & Saturday. The Maker Faire will also be the host to the 5th annual Ohio Tool Racing Championships (www.ToolRaces.com) which was a terrific success last year, see the Facebook Photo Album (84 photos).
The Columbus Maker Faire is presented by the Columbus Idea Foundry, a growing local community workshop of artists, makers, hobbyist and those taking classes to learning new skills. It is a terrific opportunity to bring people together and share with the community. If you are interested in showing off some of your own craftiness, booths are open to anyone you just need to fill out this Call To Makers form. More info to follow soon!
