This brand new addition to the Blaklader lineup brings the same high quality we have come to expect from their work pants. It is a Windproof and Waterproof soft shell jacket 4939 ($109) with a very similar fit and style to like shells you’ll find from Marmot, North Face or Arcteryx. While it is very stylish jacket and you may never want to use it under grueling conditions it is 100% designed and built for a demanding jobsite with full integrated hood, lower cut back and breathable 3 layer engineering to keep out the elements.
The fit on the jacket runs a pretty slim so if you are normally between 2 sizes we would recommend going with the larger. The longer sleeves give a full range of motion and together with extended back work well for a taller frame. I am 6’5” and was very surprised the XL fits as well as it did, with the adjustable cuffs the sleeves length really works for a full range of heights and body types. We were curious so we plugged in the latitude and longitude coordinates from the jacket which turns out to be the north pole. This shell jacket is really ideal for spring/fall and could be layered for winter weather. We would certainly not take it on a north pole adventure… although it would make a very nice Christmas gift from Santa.
