Visit to Cleveland #TribeSocial @ Progressive Field
Last night I drove a total of 4 hours, in the rain, uphill both ways, just to attend the TribeSocial event at Progressive Field, home of the Cleveland Indians. The event was all about social media in sports and business which would have probably bored most to tears but we found pretty entertaining. There were some knowledgeable speakers and a chance to hear from Mark Shapiro, General Manager and his take on social media among athletes. There were also plenty of questions about the Indians and their less than stellar season and of course we stayed for the game which they ended up winning 3-2 in the 11th (but we had to drive home before extra innings).
It also gave us a chance to check out the Ridgid Jobsite Bar in centerfield (picture from a less rainy occasion) and a chance to talk to Steve from Ridgid and ask the important questions like when the 2011-2012 Ridgid Calendars will be shipping, (October 1st is the date) here is the sneak peek of the cover. As well as a visit to the advertising agency Liggett Stashower and learn they had the 4th highest rated internship program in the country (even beat out the White House) but that was not surprising to us considering last summer many of them got to work on such awesome projects like the Ohio Tool Racing Championship (toolraces.com).
