Earlier this week we got the news from Bloomberg that the housing starts in 2011 are predicted to hit a 3 year high. Ever optimistic about seeing a return in new home starts we wanted to be excited but in crunching the historic numbers ourselves we were also a little disappointed. The chart below highlights in red the kind of number the report predicts for the 3 year high we should be seeing in 2011. If your company has survived the past 2 years this would represent a measurable uptick in new business. It should also represent an upward trend into better days. At the same time it doesn’t look like we will hit 2005 & 06 numbers anytime soon.
