Bosch Tools at World of Concrete 2018

Bosch Distance Measurer

Last week was World of Concrete and if you’ve ever been to the show you know there is a ton to see! We are going to spend the next few days breaking down some of the top tool manufacturers starting with our friends at Bosch Power Tools. Some pretty exciting stuff coming in 2018 from Blue team including new lasers, GPS tracking on their tools and more cordless technology.

Outdoor Distance Measuring Laser GLM400 ($229) & GLM400CL ($299, Lithium Pack) these lasers are a first of their kind with a build in camera to see where that laser point is even in outdoor light and/or a further distances. Packed with features we expect these to be available late spring / early summer.

Brute Hammer GPS

Bosch Brute Turbo Breaker with GPS GSH27-26 has pretty much all the power and performance of the BH2770VCD ($1799) however also has built GPS which can pinpoint the location to within a few feet as well as alerts for use with geo-fencing, movement, tampering, etc. After a free intro period the cost is pretty reasonable at $10/month. There is a retrofit replacement power cord option with built-in GPS for use on any of your current Bosch hammers (likely could be used on any equipment) price estimate on that mid-$200s.

Bosch 18V CORE Batteries have really proven to be a big boost for Bosch Cordless Tools. Having just launched brushless recip saw, new grinder and several Rotary Hammers the Blue Team has been busy with new cordless tools. The CORE uses the larger 20700 cells but goes well beyond just a large cell, the “Cool Pack” technology separates each cell which dramatically improves thermal overload & cool down.

Green Line Laser 12V

The new 3 Line Lasers were also some of the highly anticipated new lasers for 2018. Available as GLL3-330C ($399, red) and GLL3-330CG ($499, green) these 3 line lasers will work off the Bosch 12V battery system so lines are super bright and battery life is much less of a concern as you simply can recharge them. Launching this spring we expect these to be very popular at this value.

Silica Dust continues to be a big topic around all concrete construction with new advances coming all the time. The vacuum is the heart of dry systems Bosch setup a nice demo at the show, we did a similar test recently in our Coptool Vacuum Shootout 2017 which does a very similar test as well as a few more.
