Diamond Products at the World of Concrete 2018
Walking around the World of Concrete, it’s impossible to walk by this little guy without stopping to admire! We took a close look at the PC6004EC Highway Grinder and it truly is amazing. Designed for high production grinding/profiling of concrete and asphalt pavements. This 75,000lb (full water) tank cuts 50″ wide at a low 1315 RPM and a high 1900 RPM.
This kind of size and production requires 2 motors. The main engine, attached directly to the head, is a huge turbocharged 630HP diesel. Also, the Auxiliary turbocharged 148HP diesel engine located in the front, operates the hydraulics and drive. There are probably only a handful of people in the country that’ll ever buy one of these units but for us it is more about knowing Diamond Products is very serious about concrete cutting and grinding. They bring this same level of expertise to their smaller walk-behind saws and handheld saws as well.

Diamond Products Core Bore Rigs CB733 & CB744
When it comes to professional concrete cutting and drilling the team at Diamond Products leads the way in many categories, from Concrete Core Bits, Walk Behind Concrete Saws, Diamond Blades and of course Core Drilling Rigs. The Diamond Products Core Bore name is who the pros call any size coring jobs, up to 60″+ diameter no problem. For 2” to 14” coring the Milwaukee Core Motors have been the standard for many years, relatively unchanged these 2 speed motors are real workhorses and you can find them mounted on any number of rigs from Core Bore as well as many other rig manufacturers. Diamond Products is launching two new Core Bore motors which look to change the game in core rigs with the CB733 (3 speed, 115v) and CB744 (4 speed, 220V). (more…)

Core Cut Electric Concrete Saws 14” & 16” – Wet or Dry
We will continue to search out concrete tools and accessories to help our audience meet the upcoming OSHA Silica Dust standards, June 23, 2017. Cutting concrete outdoors with a gas cut-off saw and water hookup probably won’t change much however for indoor concrete cutting or dry cutting we will definitely see some new challenges. These new Core Cut C14 ($599) and C16 ($999) Concrete Saws are electric but offer serious power much closer to gas than we have seen in the past and can be used wet or dry. Many 14”+ electric saws currently don’t have water hookups or dust collectors and aftermarket attachments can be questionable. The new OSHA spec for dust collection require near HEPA filtration, automatic filter cleaning and 25 CFM per 1” of blade diameter in cutting. For a 14”saw that’s 350 CFM, you’re not going to find that at your local hardware store.

First-Cut Early Entry Concrete Control Joint Saws – Diamond Products
Everyone knows when you pour fresh concrete you need to build-in control joints so that if/when the concrete is stressed there is a controlled path for how the concrete will crack. This is the common practice but there are several ways which those concrete joints are installed. “Early Entry” saw cutting is method which refers to cutting while not fully cured or 2 – 10 hours after being poured. Husqvarna Soff-Cut is a well know name for Early Entry cutting but there a couple new kid in town from Diamond Products Core Cut with First-Cut Early Entry Saws. Of course they’ve got several reasons why their saws are best.

Diamond Products Core Cut 14” Electric Concrete Saw C14
When cutting concrete you’ve got some choices to make, first is are you going to cut wet or dry? In most situations wet cutting is the recommended choice because this will keep dust down and the blade from over heading. Of course wet cutting is messy business and slurry gets everywhere. In block or other less dense material dry cutting is a good option but you’ll create huge clouds of silica dust which is not safe to breath. To get a useable depth of around 5” you’ll need a larger saws with a 14” blade which are most commonly gas powered to get enough ass behind it. These are ok for working out in the open but never fails we constantly hear of people using these in poorly ventilated areas and breathe in dangerous levels of carbon monoxide fumes. Diamond Products new Core Cut Electric Saw C14 ($699) looks to address many of these concerns and possibly change the way many cut concrete. (more…)

Which Walk Behind Concrete Saws is Right for You?
When it comes to selecting the right walk behind concrete cutting saw there are a lot of important considerations including: costs (upfront, operating, repair), capacities/speed, reliability, features, maneuverability just to name a few. Diamond Products Core Cut Liquid Cooled 66HP Concrete Saw CC6566
Just announced at the 2013 World of Concrete, the Diamond Products Cut Core CC6566 (06/2016 * Note CC6566 is now CC6571 Tier4 Final) walk behind saw might not find a home in every garage in America but if you are in the market of a large walk behind saw it should definitely be on the short list of considerations. The goal of this new saw design was a clean, simple, trouble free design that would be tough as nails and put out the most power they could squeeze into the frame. The saw is big but still small enough to fit through a standard 36” door way, so fairly compact for a saw fitted with a 42” concrete diamond blade. Keeping the cost down on this saw was another very big driving force as well, not only in initial purchasing price, which starts at $25,000 but also to greatly reducing operating costs, expensive repairs and downtime.
