Tent Sale & Tool Expo – October 22nd

For those of you that might be in or around Columbus, Ohio on Wednesday, October 22nd I would like to invite you to Ohio Power Tool for the Annual Tent Sale & Tool Expo. This year it’s a little later than usual so it would correspond with the launch of so many new lines of tools including: Milwaukee M12, Milwaukee M18, Bosch 12V Max, Bosch 18V Lithium, Ridgid Explorer & New Seesnakes, plus many other exciting product. All of these new tools will be at the show ready for you to demo, so if you want to try out the new Dremel Multi-Max or anything else come on down. Each vendor will be there in full force including the Bosch Big Blue Trailer. Milwaukee, Ingersoll Rand, Ridgid, Chicago Pneumatic, Hougen, Power Team and many others will have tents and tables set up as well. The event runs from 10:00am – 5:00pm or when people finally leave.

This is a great event for any one buying tools or just wanting to test out the new tools! Ohio Power Tool, already known for low internet competitive pricing, really blows it out for the tent sale. Lots of existing products are discounted for that day in addition to overall discounts given on all in-store orders. On top of the Ohio Power Tool discounts the vendors on hand have even more discounts in the form of promotions, instant rebates, free tools, tool trade-ins, etc. For instance, Bosch is offering $75 trade-in on any 18 volt, working or not, to upgrade to their new 18v lithium. That would put the new Bosch 18V compact drill at $129 and on top of that you would still get off an additional discount from Ohio Power Tool.

I’m sounding like a used car salesman now but it is definitely worth checking out if you want to get some really good deals on power tools or just get your hands on some of the new tools.

Superjacks from Simplex

Simplex is a very well known brand of hydraulic systems but they are also the top manufacturer of mechanical jacks. There are many cases you might choose a mechanical jack over a hydraulic system. Mechanical jacks by design are simpler machines. They require no power source, there is little maintenance, easy to repair and typically last a long time in rough environments. The line of SuperJacks is one of their most popular lines of mechanical jacks for many good reasons. To start there is absolutely no creep and they can hold a load for days, weeks or indefinitely. These jacks are popular among bridge builders, structural steel work, shipbuilding, and any other industry where powerful, all-position jacks are required.

The Superjacks are made to take abuse you wouldn’t dream with other heavy lifting equipment. Extended outdoor use or near weld splatter these jacks can handle the toughest jobs. Lifting from 15 to 50 tons and models available with 4” to 9” travel.

Above is a look inside the jacks to their simple mechanics. Obviously these jacks have their limits and there is a good amount of manual labor in continued use. In most cases a hydraulic system will easily out perform the Super Jacks but if you need bulletproof tough this is it.

Ohio Power Tool carries many of the Simplex Mechanical Jacks, including the Superjacks, in-stock. This is important because due to high demand these jacks can often be hard to obtain on short notice.

Simplex Jacks for Railroad Cars & Heavy Equipment

Have you ever tried to lift a railroad car or change a tire on a 200 ton earth mover? Most people luckily will never have to attempt such a task but for those that do, the job has gotten much easier thanks to a new line of Simplex jacks. Lifting heavy equipment such as this requires very special kind of tools. The jacks need to be portable, maneuverable, have a large stroke and even larger weight capacity. The Pow’r Riser II fills this tall order with several very customizable options.

The Power Riser comes in 4 basic models 60 ton, 100 ton, 150 ton and 200 ton. Each model is available in two heights 26” or 37” with the option of air-hydraulic or electric-hydraulic power sources (200 ton is air-hydraulic only). A 20’ remote control is also available on most air-hydraulic models. To reach even larger heights there are a series of Sup’r Stack Extenders and spacers which can add an additional 21” max height to any Simplex Pow’r Riser 2.

If you have questions about the Pow’r Riser 2 or any other Simplex Mechanical or Hydraulic Jacks feel free to call the pros at Ohio Power Tool and they will help you find the right tool for the job.
