Dewalt Adds New Heated Hoodies & Jackets for 2014-2015

Dewalt heated vest

Recently we announced the new line up of Milwaukee Heated Gear for the 2014-2015 season and it looks like Dewalt is following suit with their own expanded lineup which will mirror the Milwaukee offering pretty closely. Dewalt will now have their own options for a woman’s jacket, Safety Class 3 jacket and 3 hoodie versions. Dewalt will however be the only one to offer a stand-alone heated vest as Milwaukee’s new heated vest will be bundled in their new 3-in-1 Camo jacket unit.

It sounds like the Dewalt jackets that were carried over from last year will also receive some construction updates you can read about in the official Dewalt press release below. See current Dewalt Heated Jacket options.

TOWSON, Md. – July 30, 2014 – DEWALT expands its 20V MAX*/12V MAX* heated gear line with seven new heated jacket styles. New additions to the line include a khaki heated jacket with a hood (DCHJ064), a heated vest with attachable sleeves (DCHJ065), a woman’s heated jacket with a removable hood (DCHJ066), a 3-styles-in-1 ANSI  Class 3** high-visibility heated jacket with a hood (DCHJ070), and three styles of heated hoodies (DCHJ067, DCHJ068, and DCHJ071).

“Through our research, we learned that professionals were looking for more jacket styles to wear on and off the job site,” says Tracy Moran, Product Manager, DEWALT. “With the expansion of our current line, we are able to accommodate professionals. We expanded our heated gear line to include women’s jackets for use on the jobsite as well as during outdoor activities. By incorporating the adaptor extension into our new and existing line of heated gear, we now provide two battery placement options for the user—in the battery pocket on the back of the jacket or in the front pocket of the jacket.”

All new and existing SKUs in the line of heated gear are wind-resistant, and five of the seven new SKUs are also water-resistant. The 3-in-1 high-visibility heated jacket, khaki heated jacket, and the selection of heated hoodies are all fitted with three core heating zones on the left and right chest and mid back, and a built-in hood with adjustable drawstrings. The heated vest and women’s heated jacket with removable hood each include 4 core heating zones on the left and right chest, mid back and collar. The versatile heated vest includes attachable sleeves for users who opt to wear it as a heated jacket, and the women’s heated jacket comes with a removable and adjustable hood for additional protection from the weather and comfort.

DEWALT incorporated feedback from users in the field to make enhancements to the previously existing SKUs (DCHJ060, DCHJ061, DCHJ062 and DCHJ063) in its line of heated gear. Enhancements include a stronger metal zipper closure, reinforced stitching on the cuffs, a built-in wind guard that blocks wind through the zipper, and metal snaps instead of Velcro to attach a hood (for select SKUs). The heated vest and all heated jackets will come with an adaptor extension giving the user the ability to have the battery in the back pocket or move it to the front pocket when sitting.

All kitted units will come with a DCB107 20V MAX* charger, DCB091 20V MAX*/12V MAX* USB power source, and a DCB201 20V MAX* lithium ion battery. All bare units will be sold with the DCB091 USB power source only.  New DEWALT heated gear will retail for between $99.00 and $239.00 each, and will be available in sizes S-3XL† (sizes XS-2XL for the DCHJ066 women’s heated jacket) through distributors in August.  All heated gear comes with a one-year limited warranty and 90-day money-back guarantee.
