Father’s Day 2015 Power Tool Gift Guide

Father’s Day is right around the corner. Fathers, in general, tend to like tools. You should buy tools for your father for Father’s Day. I am here to help with some handy suggestions.

If you are like me, some of your earliest memories regarding power tool use with your father revolve around holding a light so he can see where he is working. Also, if you are like me, your dad doesn’t have a ready volunteer on the standby to hold a light for him while he works anymore. Now, you can get your dad something nice, while at the same time alleviating the problem he has been facing since you moved out and were no longer there to hold a light for him. The Maxxeon Workstar 620 Technicians’ headlamp is available for less than $30, has a rechargeable lithium battery, and is LED powered so it will virtually never burn out. Plus it has a serious “dad cool” look to it.

For a lot of dads out there, when buying a gift, something with a camouflage pattern is always a pretty good choice. The Edge Eyewear Khor digital camo 3 lens kit fits at least that requirement. I know I’ve already talked about the bulletproof tendencies of Edge glasses (thanks in no small part to their bonkers videos), and this kit comes with three sets of lenses in clear, black, and yellow, as well as the Camo frame and nifty carrying case. Another good gift for the folks out there who are looking to spend in the neighborhood of $30.

For those looking to shell out a little more dough for dad, spending around $60 will get you the GearWrench Quadbox reversible ratcheting wrench set. In this 13 piece set you will get two ratcheting wrenches with sizing from 5/16” to ¾”, as well as ten driver bits and the adapter to sue them in the wrenches. All in all, these are some nice wrenches, and handy tools to keep around.

Milwaukee and Bosch also have some pretty good deals in time for the holiday. While supplies last, you can get a free M12 wireless Bluetooth speaker (a $69 value) for free with the purchase of a M12 3/8” hammer drill. Bosch currently has $50 off a $200 purchase of select tools, which means you can get a popular CLPK234-181 cordless combo kit for under $175. See all the qualifying Bosch Tools Here, perhaps something for yourself while you are at it.

Last, but never least, if you really want to spoil your dad this year, you can get him something real nice there is of course alway the Dragon Saw. A lot of people can’t see what use they would have for a Dragon Saw. This is inconsequential. Once you own the Dragon Saw, you will only ask yourself what can’t I use the Dragon Saw to do. It makes cleaning under the couch a snap!

If you are in the Columbus, Ohio area, or you will be on June 18th, Ohio Power Tool is having an open house event. This will be a great place to talk to representatives from different tool manufacturers, and pick up some super sweet deals just in time for Father’s Day.

I use that exact headlamp in my workshop (I’m a mechanic) everyday when working under cars on a hoist, its brilliant, the LED light gives off a sharp light that makes it easy to see while i work.
