The Milwaukee cordless drain snake has been a long awaited addition for many in the plumbing and maintenance trades. The M12 Drain Snake 2571-21 ($249) includes a 25’ x 5/16” bulb cable, battery, charger and 5 gallon bucket which is very handy for transport and storage. Some plumbers we talked with were concerned the M12 platform would not have enough power and were also concerned about what would the run time be like in the field. We gave the product to a plumbing professional and our friend, Tom from SewerQuest to try it out with his crew.
Tom was also pretty skeptical when we first handed the unit over to him but after using it on several jobs he definitely changed his view. Based off his professional experiences we feel much more confident Milwaukee made the right call in launching this on the M12 platform. For M18 users good news is the Milwaukee M18 charger can charge both M12 and M18 batteries and actually make it more convenient to have both batteries charging together. If runtime is a bigger concern the new 6.0Ah XC M12 Batteries can triple the runtime to literally do dozens of jobs per charge. We are excited to see what new plumbing tools Milwaukee will launch next.
