Makita 18V SDS-Plus Rotary Drill & HEPA Vac with Miss Makita

Miss Makita SDS-Plus with HEPA Vac

While the Makita 18V Brushless SDS-Plus Rotary with HEPA Vac XRH011XVX ($399) is not new on the market (released over a year ago) it has received an increase in interest recently because of the changing OSHA Silica Dust Rules. The rule started June 23rd and becomes a fine-able offense in 2017, basically if you are drilling concrete on a job you better be collecting the dust with some sort of vac system. For smaller holes, 1″ or less this compact cordless system is a great solution, HEPA rates and all powered off a single Makita 18V LXT battery.

As we saw in the Cordless SDS-Plus Rotary Comparison a few months back, this is Makita’s lighter & more compact SDS-Plus hammer option, ideal if you are also strapping a vacuum to the bottom. In use it is very well powered, built to work for long periods on most common applications. With new Makita 6.0Ah batteries (on the way) the runtime continues to extend.
