Of course one of the time-honored Makita traditions at the STAFDA trade show is the unveiling of the next year’s Miss Makita & Senoirta Makita. If you’ve been wait for the announcement of the 2015 Makita gals, you should not be disappointed with their new representation, Miss Makita @JessHarbour and Senorita Makita @MonceMorales. Of course Makita also brought some new tools to show off at STAFDA which looked pretty promising as well.
Brushless will again be the big push for Makita 18V LXT cordless tools in 2015 which will mark their 100th year in business. We got to see several new examples at the STAFDA show including a new cordless jigsaw, 6-1/2” circular saw, 5-3/8” metal circular saw as well as the new “oil impulse” impact which promises 30% quieter operation.

18V LXT® Lithium-Ion 5.0Ah Battery (BL1850 $119)
Makita knows that the most expensive asset on a jobsite is labor, so the less time a battery sits on the charger, the more time it’s powering the tool. This means more work and less downtime. Compressors are workhorse tools on the jobsite, and Makita compressors are contractor favorites for their faster recovery time, lower noise, longer tool life, and consistent jobsite performance. Makita is adding two models to its best-in-class compressor line-up. The new 5.5 HP Big Bore™ Gas Air Compressor (MAC5501G, left) has a powerful Honda GX160 4-stroke engine for increased performance and superior reliability, with a “V” Twin style pump that runs cooler and provides up to 12.5 CFM at 100 PSI for faster recovery.
For increased portability, the new Compact Air Compressor (AC001, right) is powered by an induction motor for reliable performance and durability, and weighs only 23.1 lbs. The AC001 also has lower noise (72dBA) so it’s ideal for indoor use. (winter 2015)
