Powermatic has revamped the design on what was already one of the best drill presses in the woodworking world. The PM2800B retains all of the features that made the 2800 so popular, such as dual LED lights and a laser guidance system for bit placement, but made adjustments to the design of the tool to make it more user friendly and intuitive for the professional woodworker.
The new features of the PM2800B include an oversized, expandable worktable that is the largest in its class. The table can also rotate up to 90° with positive stops at 0° and 90°. The PM2800B has a full variable speed control that can be operated with one hand and never requires changing a belt. At the same time the quill travel has been revamped to allow 6” of travel with one turn of the control wheel. Along with the oversized table the base of the tool has been increased in size to make the drill press more stable and ensure that it will not move around when you are working.
