Southwire Releases New SIMpull™ Fish Tapes

Southwire SIMpull Fishtapes

Southwire Tools & Equipment continues to demonstrate their leadership position with their recent introduction of SIMpull Fish Tapes. Their new line features a spiral extruded polymer design that reduces the amount of effort to push or pull fish tape through EMT or PVC conduit.  Unlike competitive fiberglass products, the new design provides better flexibility and is kink resistant. SIMpull Fish Tapes are available in nine models, two tape diameters and various lengths to fit most applications.

The SIMpull Fish Tapes won’t bend or break like steel and fiberglass- however, they do incorporate the best feature of each, ensuring you get the strength of steel and the non-conductive properties of fiberglass. This feature especially helps when running through 90-degree bends, allowing it to roll off the turns and continue moving without causing damage to the fish tape.

Four models in the SIMpull Fish Tape line feature a glow in the dark, non-conductive leader- available in four lengths and in 3.0mm or 4.5mm diameters. Non-conductive from end to end, these models allow for easy installation over existing wires, and are a direct replacement for fiberglass fish tapes

The remaining five models include a swiveling flexible metal leader, enhancing fishing speed and performance. While the leader is metal, the rest of the tape is not and is a safety advantage over steel. Both models of fish tapes are extremely durable as well as significantly lighter in weight. Southwire has a long history of designing, manufacturing and distributing a wide range of tools and equipment, made with the electrician in mind. Southwire now extends their legacy with the SIMpull Fish Tape, maximizing productivity and minimizing worker fatigue.

Two Leader Types Available

The SIMpull Fish Tapes come in two variations of leader types: a swiveling flexible metal leader that easily glides through EMT and PVC conduit, and a non-conductive glow in the dark leader that allows for easy installation over existing wires. This new line of fish tapes features nine models, offering solutions for a multitude of applications, featuring two tape diameters and various lengths to fit most applications.

Fast, Easier Pulls

The SIMpull Fish Tapes provide a faster, easier way to push and pull fish tapes through EMT and PVC conduit. The low friction, spiral extruded polymer allows the tape to easily glide through the conduit without binding at turns, joints or couplings. The SIMpull Fish Tapes will also help increase jobsite efficiency.

Extremely Flexible

The non-conductive material of the SIMpull Fish Tapes is rust resistant, and will not conform when bent like other fish tape materials. Both models of fish tapes are extremely durable, while also being substantially lighter weight. Though the material is flexible, it still has enough structural integrity to be pushed through long conduit runs.

While the SIMpull Fish Tapes are increasingly popular, Southwire continues to offer customers traditional steel and fiberglass products. Designed to easily reach above ceilings, under carpets and through walls to install wire.  Both products provide superior results, available in multiple lengths, laser etched footage markings to help identify length of pull and high-impact, durable cases for longer lasting performance and use.
