Milwaukee Torch vs Diablo Carbide Blade – M18 Super Sawzall

While at the Milwaukee Tool NPS 2018, Milwaukee presented their new Milwaukee Torch Carbide Sawzall Blades and went head-to-head with the Freud Diablo Carbide Blade. Up until now the Diablos have been way out in front with carbide recip blade technology when it comes to cutting metal. Clearly, this Milwaukee demo provided by Milwaukee themselves, so it may certainly have some bias in the demonstration.  (more…)

Milwaukee M18 Battery Upgrade 9.0Ah vs 12.0Ah

M18 Batteries 12Ah vs 9Ah

At Milwaukee’s New Product Symposium 2018 there were a lot of exciting announcements, one of which was the new 12.0Ah High Output M18 Batteries 48-11-1812. Most of the new NPS M18 FUEL Tools launching in July come with this new larger battery including the Table Saw, Super Sawzall, Chainsaw, Grinder and Gen 2 Circular Saw. These new 12.0Ah High Outputs use the 21700 cells for more runtime, less overheating and more peak power draw capability. We had 2 big questions; FIRST how will my existing 5.0Ah & 9.0Ah batteries perform in the new tools. SECOND will the 12.0Ah increase performance on any of my existing tools such as the M18 10” Miter Saw, Gen 1 Circular Saw or Sawzall?

Milwaukee 2018 Update for Heated Jackets & Gloves

Milwaukee 2018 Heated Gear

Milwaukee has been leading the Heated Jacket Game since 2010 and we have seen a lot of advances over the years for more options and better equipped for the jobsite. Having had many conversations with their product managers in this category they really understand fabrics, design and what it takes to make great clothing at this point, no longer just throwing batteries and a couple of heating wires in a jacket. For the 2018/2019 Heated Gear Season we will see some incremental changes to what has worked, along with several new innovative items like Heated Gloves! (more…)

Can Milwaukee M18 Chain Saw 2727-21HD Replace Gas?

Launching very soon, July 2018, the Milwaukee M18 FUEL 16” Chain Saw 2727-21HD ($399) will be hitting the streets with the new 12.0Ah High Output batteries. The big question on everyone’s mind seems to be can this 18V cordless chain saw beat 36V, 40V, 54V, 60V, 80V but most importantly gas saws? Sure everyone would love to stop messing with gas engines and use a simple battery but a few important things have hindered them taking over the market. Most importantly Power, Price & Runtime! Milwaukee is not first to market here with a cordless chain saw that uses a tool battery but believe they can now address all 3 of these concerns. (more…)

Milwaukee NPS18 What is Coming & What We Didn’t See

Milwaukee NPS18

We’re going to start this off with what we didn’t see at Milwaukee’s NPS18 event before jumping into all the good stuff. Of course everyone has a ton of wants, needs and guess on what new products are getting launched at these events but they can only do so much. Steve Richman, Milwaukee’s President got up and said the answer is YES we are going to make that; for pretty much any (logical) tool you are asking about just a matter of time. So For this year’s event no M18 tracksaw, no M18 trim routers, no cordless M18 framing nailer, no new M18 drain cleaning/plumbing, no M18 lawn mower and no revival of the Titan Workcarts. But we did see a ton of exciting stuff and PRE-SALE M18 Tools are already up!!!!
