Makita’s 16” Cordless Chainsaw was released over a year ago, and today it’s still one of the top professional cordless chainsaws on the market. As the debate between GAS and ELECTRIC chainsaws continues, we gave it to our friends at Aluhm & Arbor Tree Preservation to put it through its paces on the job site and decide if it deserves a spot on a professional tree truck. This is your Inside Look at the Makita 16” Cordless Chainsaw. You can order one at Ohio Power Tool today! (more…)
We first found this tool at NPS 2018, and everyone was impressed with “the little cut-off tool that could.” And by that I mean, it could cut through all sorts of metal, tile, and construction materials, despite being on Milwaukee’s smaller 12V battery platform. Spinning at 20,000 RPMs, this flexible addition to the M12 family of tools is designed to be used with only one hand. It ships with a Carbide Abrasive blade, Diamond Tile blade, a metal cut off wheel, and a handy shoe guard complete with a dust collection port. (more…)
This is the Milwaukee’s M18 Super Sawzall. It arrived in 2018 with more power, more weight, and a new 12AH battery. It claims to match the power of a 15amp corded version. It features variable speed control in both the trigger and a separate dial, as well as on/off orbital cutting, increased stroke length, and a new LED light & rafter hook. (more…)
Milwaukee’s M18 3-in-1 Backpack Vacuum gives tradesmen a cordless vac that can be worn, hung, or carried around the jobsite. With only 76 decibels of noise, it’s also one of the quietest vacuums on the market. But don’t mistake the lack of noise for a lack of power. This vac boasts up to 2 times the suction power of competing models and is OSHA compliant for silica dust collection. Complete with a HEPA filter and heavy-duty attachments, this shop vac is ready for the toughest of job sites.
To test it out, we asked Eric from Mechanical Hub to spend some time with it on the job, before taking it apart with Kris, our tool technician at Ohio Power Tool. This is your Inside Look at the Milwaukee M18 3-in-1 Backpack Vacuum, model 0885-20. (more…)
Home Depot recently named the Makita Subcompact lineup of tools, the winner of their 2018 Innovation Award. This Makita lineup consists of a range of tools, including the 18V Subcompact 6-1/2” Circular Saw, model #XHS04.
It features 12V size and portability, with 18V of power, and is advertised as being “ideal for any contractor seeking a more compact cutting solution for framing; roofing; form-work; and more.” Is that true? Can this Makita subcompact circular saw really deliver on the jobsite? to answer that question, we gave it to foreman AJ Delancey for his feedback. Then we took it to Ohio Power Tool where Kris Cousins opened it up to see how Makita designed an 18V saw that features 5,000 RPM. (more…)

One of the most anticipated new tools to come out of the Milwaukee NPS this year was the M18 Fuel Cordless Tablesaw, running on Milwaukee’s new 12.0Ah HD batteries. A few weeks ago we got our hands on the saw, and immediately brought it over to AJ Delancey at AD Enterprises. We asked AJ to put the saw to work on the job site so we could get some real world feedback. (more…)
