Today at the World of Concrete our friends from Bosch Tools have announced that the world’s most popular SDS-Plus Rotary Hammer will be going cordless. The first ever Cordless Bosch Bulldog GBH18V-26DK24 $449 will be very similar to the corded 11255VSR with a 1” capacity at 1.9 Ft. Lbs. but reports that it’ll outperform its corded counterpart. Additionally a new 18V HEPA dust collection unit GDE18V-26DN that’ll work with this Bulldog or really any SDS-Plus rotary hammer with similar handle setup. Will this cordless D-Handle unit find similar success to the 20+ years the Bosch Bulldog corded models have, that really depends on 2 big questions which still remain unanswered?

For as long as we can remember the Ridgid Power Pony 700 ($1400) has been the standard in mobile pipe threading for ½” – 2” pipe. Others have made similar versions but none have come anywhere near the Power Pony for popularity and performance. The one and only drawback that continuously comes up however, in 2019 a tool designed for portability needs to be you know, portable which means cordless. The team at Milwaukee hopes to capitalize on this short coming and fill the need with the M18 FUEL Pipe Threader w/ONE-KEY 2874-22HD. This unit will use the very common 12R die heads so will be compatible with all your current Ridgid 12R Threading Die Heads you likely already own in various sizes.
Announced at the AHR Expo today but not going to be hitting the Market until summer 2019, Pre-Sale will be up early on Ohio Power Tool under Milwaukee M18 Tools, no pricing info yet but stay tuned for #NPS19 where there will likely be much more info, in the meantime check out the full Milwaukee press release below. Over the past year we’ve seen a big move away from single use Outdoor Power Equipment trimmers, edgers and pole saws and a shift towards a single motor system with replicable heads. This is true for both residential use and professionals. It makes total sense, we’ve seen this work very well with other brands so for Milwaukee it’s no surprise they would take this next step. Launching closer to spring time, Pre-Sale up soon M18 FUEL OPE with Ohio Power Tool. This will not replace the existing string trimmer 2725-21HD ($299) or the Hedge Trimmer 2726-21HD ($329) but will be interested to see how these are all promoted as we get closer to April & May. For more info in the meantime here is the full Milwaukee Video & Press Release:

A few hours ago, the Netherlands Festool Youtube account (youtube.com/FestoolNederland) posted a shot 20 second video featuring a small group of Festool employees preparing for a major Construction Fair, by using what looks like a Festsool Table Saw with Sawstop Safety technology, Hotdog test and all…
The description, as translated by Google, is as follows:
Our trainers are currently preparing for the Construction Fair so that they can answer any questions about the innovative SawStop technology. Experience the machine live at the construction fair from 4 to 8 February. Request your tickets here for free and win a KAPEX KS60 of € 774
The show they’re referring to is the BouwBeurs Construction Fair, that largest and most complete trade fair for executive construction, according to their website. The Fair is a bi-annual show that covers all facets of the construction industry.
This is the first time we’ve seen the Sawstop technology in a Festool tool since they were acquired by TTS (Festool’s parent company) back in 2017.
The video leaves us with more questions than answers at this point. We reached out to Festool for comment and will update this article with any new information we acquire.
