A few hours ago, the Netherlands Festool Youtube account (youtube.com/FestoolNederland) posted a shot 20 second video featuring a small group of Festool employees preparing for a major Construction Fair, by using what looks like a Festsool Table Saw with Sawstop Safety technology, Hotdog test and all…
The description, as translated by Google, is as follows:
Our trainers are currently preparing for the Construction Fair so that they can answer any questions about the innovative SawStop technology. Experience the machine live at the construction fair from 4 to 8 February. Request your tickets here for free and win a KAPEX KS60 of € 774
The show they’re referring to is the BouwBeurs Construction Fair, that largest and most complete trade fair for executive construction, according to their website. The Fair is a bi-annual show that covers all facets of the construction industry.
This is the first time we’ve seen the Sawstop technology in a Festool tool since they were acquired by TTS (Festool’s parent company) back in 2017.
The video leaves us with more questions than answers at this point. We reached out to Festool for comment and will update this article with any new information we acquire.
You may be asking yourself like we are, if SawStop was up for sales why oh why didn’t Bosch Tools simply buy them out when they were in a loosing legal battle over the REAXX saw which they are now forced to mothball the entire line. We can’t answer that one… Anyway it looks as though SawStop will now join forces with Festool under the parent company Tooltechnic Systems, we will update you soon on what that means for the future of the line but it should be a very smart alliance for SawStop. See the press release below: (more…)
Known for their innovative tools and “yep we’re very proud of this” pricing, Festool tools are definitely highly regarded among professional tradesmen. Several of our fellow tool bloggers have recently done some very detailed reviews and currently there are a few give aways on the latest Festool products we wanted to share.
ToolSnob – A great review on the new Festool Rotex 90 DX sander, but to warn you if a man could marry a sander apparently he would.
HomeFixated – They are running a giveaway on the new Festool T-Loc Systainers storage units (size 1-5). Also nice YouTube video if you don’t know what these are or how they work.
ToolRank – Here is a nice write up on the new 10.8v Festool CXS compact drill/driver also with a nice YouTube video.
Festool – Direct from Festool themselves you can enter to win a Festool RO 125 Sander and HEPA CT 26 Dust Extractor kit. Simply visit http://www.festoolsweepstakes.com/
